Candles: Is anyone else way more into fall candles than summer? For me personally, I tend to like more apple-based or crisp scents so that's why the majority are in that category. Yankee Candle Macintosh Apple is my absolute favorite fall candle, and has been for years! A couple other favorites from Yankee Candle are Honey Crisp Apple Cider and Spiced Pumpkin. For Bath & Body Works, my favorite fall candle is Leaves. I'm a lot more sensitive to candles being too overpowering than I used to be, but I find that these candles really don't give me a headache even if they've been burning for awhile!
Sips and Sweets: One of my favorite things about fall is apple cider. Last year we took a weekend trip to Stowe Vermont and went to Cold Hollow Cider Mill. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the absolute best apple cider I've ever tasted. And the best part is that they sell their cider online starting October 1st if you're interested in trying it out! I love making apple cider mimosa this time of year, and if you want to get fancy, you can rim your champagne glass with caramel sauce and cinnamon sugar. Some other fall treats that I tried this year and have been loving are the Maple Creme Oreos and the Trader Joe's Maple Leaf Cookies. The Oreos definitely have a stronger maple flavor, while the TJ's ones are more mild, but both are delicious!
Decor: I wanted to mention places where I've found cute fall/Halloween decor for a reasonable price! One of my favorite fall decorations this year is actually from Michaels. It's not available online, but definitely check the store near year to see if it's available if you're interested! Michaels also has a lot of good Halloween decor, so I picked up this tabletop accent to add to my collection for this year! HomeGoods, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Target, Joanne Fabrics, and Bed Bath & Beyond are all great stores to check out for fall decor.
Day Trips: Last October, Olivia, Anthony and I went to Salem Massachusetts right before Halloween, and we definitely recommend going if you haven't been! Things might be a little different in Salem this year with social distancing, but just being there around Halloween time is so fun. We had brunch at Ledger Restaurant and had an amazing experience. The service was awesome and the food was to die for. We all ordered the chicken and waffles with green chile butter, hot honey, and pickles. We also went to Allison's house from Hocus Pocus (The Ropes Mansion) for an obligatory Salem photo op. Another great fall activity is apple picking and our favorite orchards are Butternut Farm in Farmington New Hampshire as well as Belkin Family Lookout Farm in Natick Massachusetts. If you go to Butternut, be sure to check out the Cider House. We love their warm apple cider donuts and their hard cider is amazing too! Lookout offers a "farm dining experience" where you can enjoy their beer, hard cider, and cuisine made with their own produce as well as locally sourced ingredients while overlooking the orchard. Both are super cute, and the perfect socially distant activity!
Miscellaneous: Duster cardigans are a favorite fall clothing item, and I've been loving the window pane design for fall. The exact one I have is no longer available, but this cardigan is very similar. A couple other miscellaneous favorites are lip products we really like for fall. The first is MAC Creme in Your Coffee which is described as a creamy midtown pink brown and Revlon Rum Raisin which is a medium tone plum shade.
That wraps up our current fall favorites! Let us know your favorite fall activities and products in the comments below!
